specialize in one style of decorating" Although this is true of many
Designers, I feel that a truly talented Designer is able to rise to a challenge
and mold him/herself to the style that the client envisions.
What difference does it make
whether or not my designer belongs to a trade organization? If your designer
cares about staying current and being educated as well as being the best at what
he/she does, that designer will take the extra time to be involved with a
professional group that believes the same!

What is the difference between a
decorator and a designer? A Designer is very talented but has also completed at least four years of
college coursework, in many cases has gone through extensive testing to become
licensed, has the education and expertise to advise on remodeling and
renovations and has worked at least 4 years in the design field. A decorator has
a talent but has not necessarily completed a design degree or worked in a design
related field for any length of time. Which did you hire for your last
